It depends on your location, whether a cable is already installed in your property. In most cases, the same or the next day. If a new router is required, we will delay the activation until you receive the new router. If a new line is needed, we will appoint an engineer usually within 7 working days.

We offer a static IP address for an additional £5 per month.

Search for your domain on our Domain Names page and choose Transfer. UK domains (.uk, .co.uk, and other UK extensions) do not use an auth code — you change the IPS tag at your current registrar to TUCOWS-CA. All other extensions require an auth code (also called an EPP code) from your current registrar. Enter it during signup, or complete your order and email it to support@gig.uk.net if you do not have it yet. You will need an active Gig web hosting account (new or existing). After payment, we process the transfer and keep you updated by email.

Yes. When you transfer a domain to Gig, your registration period is extended by one year beyond its current expiry date. This extra year is included in the transfer fee shown at checkout — you do not lose any time already paid for with your current registrar. The updated expiry date is applied once the transfer completes successfully. UK domains (.uk, .co.uk, and other UK extensions) follow the same principle when the tag change to TUCOWS-CA is completed.

Yes — on eligible hosting packages, a qualifying domain registration is included at no extra charge when the 1-year registration price is within the package threshold shown on the plan. The domain itself is free, but your hosting contract changes from a month-to-month term to a 12-month minimum commitment. Hosting is still billed monthly by Direct Debit; the free domain offer applies to new registrations only, not transfers.

Our full price list — registration, transfer, redemption, and multi-year terms — is on the Domain Pricing page (linked in the website footer under Services). You can search and filter by extension, including UK and popular TLDs. Prices shown on the Domain Names search results update when you change the registration period.

New registrations for available domains are usually live within a few minutes once your order is complete. Transfers take longer: UK tag changes typically complete within a few days, and international transfers depend on your current registrar releasing the domain — often 5–7 days, but sometimes longer. We will confirm by email when your domain is active on your Gig hosting account.
