Configure Your HT801/HT802 VoIP Adaptor
Follow these steps to configure your Grandstream HT801 or HT802 VoIP adapter:
Physical Setup
- Connect the adapter to power
- Connect an Ethernet cable from your router to the adapter's LAN port
- Connect your phone to the FXS port
- Wait for the adapter to boot (LED lights will stabilize)
Access Web Interface
- Find the adapter's IP address (check router DHCP table or use Grandstream Discovery Tool)
- Open a web browser
- Go to http://[adapter-ip] (default is often http://192.168.1.1)
- Log in with default credentials (admin/admin - change this immediately)
Basic Configuration
- Go to FXS Port settings
- Enter your VoIP account details:
- SIP Server (from your provider)
- SIP User ID (your extension/username)
- SIP Password
- Display Name
- Set Primary SIP Server to your provider's server
- Configure NAT Traversal if behind a router
Advanced Settings
- Codec Priority: Set preferred codecs (G.711u/a for best quality)
- DTMF Mode: Set to RFC2833 or Inband
- Call Features: Enable call waiting, call forwarding as needed
- Time Settings: Configure NTP server for accurate time
Test Configuration
- Check registration status (should show "Registered")
- Make a test call
- Check audio quality
- Test incoming calls
Security
- Change default admin password
- Enable firewall if available
- Restrict access to trusted IPs
- Keep firmware updated
