Configure Your Netis Router for VoIP
Proper router configuration is essential for good VoIP call quality. Follow these steps to configure your Netis router for VoIP:
Enable Quality of Service (QoS)
- Access your router's web interface
- Navigate to QoS or Bandwidth Control
- Enable QoS
- Set VoIP traffic to high priority
- Configure bandwidth limits if needed
Port Forwarding
If you're using a VoIP adapter behind the router:
- Go to NAT → Virtual Server
- Add a rule for SIP port 5060 (UDP)
- Add rules for RTP ports (typically 10000-20000 UDP)
- Point these to your VoIP adapter's IP address
Firewall Settings
- Allow SIP traffic (port 5060 UDP)
- Allow RTP traffic (ports 10000-20000 UDP)
- Disable SIP ALG if it causes issues
Optimize WiFi for VoIP
- Use 5GHz band if available (less interference)
- Enable WMM (WiFi Multimedia) for QoS
- Reduce WiFi channel interference
Test Your Configuration
- Make a test call
- Check for audio quality issues
- Monitor for dropped calls
- Adjust settings as needed
