Configure Your Netis Router for VoIP

Proper router configuration is essential for good VoIP call quality. Follow these steps to configure your Netis router for VoIP:

Enable Quality of Service (QoS)

  1. Access your router's web interface
  2. Navigate to QoS or Bandwidth Control
  3. Enable QoS
  4. Set VoIP traffic to high priority
  5. Configure bandwidth limits if needed

Port Forwarding

If you're using a VoIP adapter behind the router:

  1. Go to NATVirtual Server
  2. Add a rule for SIP port 5060 (UDP)
  3. Add rules for RTP ports (typically 10000-20000 UDP)
  4. Point these to your VoIP adapter's IP address

Firewall Settings

  • Allow SIP traffic (port 5060 UDP)
  • Allow RTP traffic (ports 10000-20000 UDP)
  • Disable SIP ALG if it causes issues

Optimize WiFi for VoIP

  • Use 5GHz band if available (less interference)
  • Enable WMM (WiFi Multimedia) for QoS
  • Reduce WiFi channel interference

Test Your Configuration

  1. Make a test call
  2. Check for audio quality issues
  3. Monitor for dropped calls
  4. Adjust settings as needed
