Setup Your TP-Link ADSL Router

Follow these steps to set up your TP-Link ADSL router:

Physical Connection

  1. Connect the ADSL cable from your phone socket to the ADSL port on the router
  2. Connect your computer to one of the LAN ports using an Ethernet cable
  3. Plug in the power adapter and turn on the router
  4. Wait for the router lights to stabilize

Access Router Interface

  1. Open a web browser
  2. Go to http://192.168.1.1 or http://tplinkwifi.net
  3. Log in with default credentials (usually admin/admin - check your router label)

Quick Setup Wizard

  1. Follow the Quick Setup wizard when it appears
  2. Select your country and internet service provider
  3. Choose connection type (usually PPPoE)
  4. Enter your broadband username and password (provided by your ISP)
  5. Configure WiFi settings:
    • Set WiFi network name (SSID)
    • Set WiFi password (use WPA2 security)
  6. Save settings and wait for router to restart

Manual Configuration

If the wizard doesn't appear:

  1. Go to NetworkWAN
  2. Set connection type to PPPoE
  3. Enter your username and password
  4. Go to WirelessWireless Settings
  5. Configure your WiFi name and password
  6. Save all settings

Verify Connection

  • Check that the internet light on router is solid
  • Try accessing a website
  • Connect devices via WiFi using the password you set
